picked up another truck...

well i have been halfway looking a new cab and front clip to rebuild the truck i rolled (96 F150) since i love those body styles of the single cab. Ran across this one on Craigslist no bed and guy was gonna pull engine/trans so it would of been a transfer case axles and cab/front clip. he texted me last night asking if it was okay to leave the engine/transmission in it so i said sure.

been setting about 2 years but engine turned over freely by the starter. its a 300/5speed truck. paid him $200 and drove a little over a hour to get it and he loaded it for me. just dont have a title. so now to swap cab's/tranny or swap cabs and plant a 460/c6 in it or to just keep that one in one piece and build a flatbed for it....

yea figured with a 300 and a 5 speed i could pull them and sell them for more than that. and $200 is what the U-pull-it lot wanted for a cab/front clip. so even if i do pull it I will atleast do it at home where i can use power tools

Thought about it, but in NC a 96 has to go on the computer and get a emission's test, so i want be able to swap in a 460. but at the same time id rather have the 5 speed than the auto if i stick with the 300. either way dont think i ended up to bad off at $200 and a tank of fuel

I like them as well. I also have a 95 F350 that i love, except when i have to fill up the tank, or when my father "borrows" it and breaks it.

Sweet rig! 2 questions though....

1: Why didn't you put this swap thread in the 87-96 forum? I bet there'd be a lot of interest.

2: What kind of tires are those and where did you get them? I want some for my truck.

we get in trouble outside of 4x4......

even if you are installing something as simple as new cupholders it's safe bet we could wreck the thread and get infractions without even trying outside of this subforum, so we tend to keep everything here instead of deal with the bs and hassle. think of 4x4 as a mini fte with less suckage
