Transmission fluid going somewhere

Hi Everyone,

There was an earlier post by my son (ornonic), engine trouble I think we have that problem under control, now I have a question about the transmission fluid, We are loosing a lot of fluid, and do not know where its going. no puddles under the car. I was thinking it could be leaking inside the radiator. We flushed the radiator three times. twice with fresh water and once with a flush cleaner. took it for a long ride and no more fluid loss. I would think by flushing the radiator it would leek worse not get better but it also maybe sporadic at leaking.

Thanks in advance for all help you guys are the best

What vehicle do you have . Eng. , trans . Ect. A modulator valve can go bad and leak into the vac line. You won't see a leak , it will be drawn into the intake and burn . You may not even notice any smoke while driving .

There was a lot of smoke coming out of the breather but has stopped after flushing both the engine and the radiator.

A 93 auto will be an E4OD, it has an O/D off button on the shifter lever, right?. If the leak was in the radiator you would either notice ATF under the radiator or oil in the coolant.

There was a lot of sludge in the coolant even after the first flush there still was sludge in coolant, flushed two more times and it is clear now

PS there is the button on the shifter ****

Would have been . If no external leaks , sludge in coolant , loosing fluid . Sounds like the cooler in the radiator is bad . Make sure it isn't going into the Tcase . If it was it should start leaking from the rear seal . I see that on GM , don't remember a Ford doing that, just a thought !

This is my first thought but after flushing, there seams to be do more leakage, this does not seams correct to stop leaking, I would have thought it to get worse. Will check transfer case
