I have a 2010 limited with Factory Nav. I noticed at night the full display does not dim as I would have hoped and it is failrly distracting when driving. I know I can turn it completely off but that does not help to see the have pane The map area turns dark but the other side of display stays very bright (right side which shows radio) almost blinding at night.
The display on my wifes 330xi fully dims for night time. I have set the day night to auto.. Is there any other way to make it dim more for night time driving? Even better to have the screen invert colors so to speak to dark.

 

Does you map turn black at night? Or stay the same way as daylight?

 

You should be able to go to the menu and check the setting for the screen brightness. My display changes to night colors when the headlights are on.
