battery isolator questions

Ok im thinking of installing a battery isolator for when I plan to let the truck sit for weeks on end to prevent the battery from being drained (aside from the usual start to keep it running well) during the summer when I usually ride my motor bike more so was wanting to know if the battery isolator is worth it, even if its nothing more then a theft deturent type thing Im just curious if anyone has such a device in/on there truck and if its worth buying/installing one...

Why not just pull the negative battery cable when you plan to let it sit? It would cost nothing and for sure would be reliable..

I can and was planning to go that route, but I was thinking of the radio and don't want to really loose the settings and have to reprogram the thing each time when reconnecting the battery cable...thats the only reason I was thinking of one as they usually have a by pass wire that is used to keep the radio alive so it won't loose its settings and for the clock.

If you're going to let it sit for long periods of time, I'd recommend a battery tender over disconnecting the battery. Keeps the battery charged and conditioned, which makes it last longer.
