Well I have almost went thru everything to get truck to start. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post12976634 . Now going to do negative cable it sure is hard to get to. When I buy a new one where an easy spot to place it on the frame or engine not sure. thanks

In my truck the negative is attached by the lower bolt of the starter, which goes into my auto trans.

Be sure it is bolted somewhere on the block for sure, and also when you buy your new cable make sure it has the small wire (I think it's an 8-10ga) that goes to the fender/radiator support for the body ground.

My '97 ground cable has an eyelet on the end and another near the end. The one near the end goes to the top of the frame near the right motor mount and the one on the end goes to the right front of the block.

But what I prefer is running the ground cable to one of the starter bolts, then run another heavy cable from the same bolt to the frame. That makes sure you've got good connection to the starter.
