Billet aluminum lockout ***** (highboy)

I thought these were pretty "trick", a pair of highboy lockout ***** machined out of billet aluminum.

At $65/hr shop rates i'm guessing it would cost around $250 to have a pair of these machined.

I'd rather have "FORD" or even "SPICER" cut into the **** instead of his shops name, but that's a small matter.

(I'd remove the paint too, and have them anodized red)

Those are pretty slick. I'm sure they would last a lifetime.

X2

If they were priced around $50 i'd buy them just to have them, but I already have a set of NOS *****.

Geez, where did you get those. I thought you might buy that set of retainers from that guy I bought mine from, then sell the ***** to recoup some money to get the price down.

I should have Terry, but for $250 I was hesitant to pull the trigger at the time, though as you stated, that did include ***** too, in retrospect it was probably a dumb move on my part.

$100ea seems to be the going rate for a NOS retainer (when you can even find one).

There not cheap, that's for sure. In retrospect, I should have held out a little longer to get a better price. You just don't know and I was just so surprised to see them. I am happy though with what I got them for. Can't look back.

I wouldn't second guess yourself, the pair you got were really pristine, I've noticed the NOS retainers have varying degrees of "newness", some seem to have had a little harder shelf life over the years.

If someone manufactured those i think there'd be a huge market for them (if the price point was right).

Damn those are nice. Wish he had a set for 78/79 dana 60. On the dlh machine web site he makes billet steel np205 bearing retainers too.

Those are pretty cool, makes an already bulletproof case even more bulletproof.

I have some that I will probably end up throwing on ebay sometime. (2) NOS turn *****, (2) NOS chrome retainer rings, and (16) NOS allen bolts. Here is what they look like without the allen bolts:
