New dumptruck, odd shift pattern
I just picked up a nice 59 F600 custom cab dump truck today. Although it's just the standard 4 speed, the shift **** shows this pattern
2-4-R
3-5-1
It is a white **** like all the others. In all my years I never saw a 5 speed with that pattern. Wish it had the transmission to match the ****.

Nothing there where it shows "1"?
That may be for a Clark direct 5 speed.
The Transmission Page
I found pretty much more of the same with a search. The OD trans is marked "OD" for 5th.

Dang it all to heck, Jones... Yer killin me with that 7 speed. I put a 210 cu in diesel in my f350 with a 4 speed and I wish I used a 5 speed, but always thought a 6 speed would be better. Now you show up with this...... And yes I vote it's a clark on the first one. Like the military multi fuel 6x6. My kid and I delivered a cab/chassis across the state for a friend last year. Never did get useed to that crazy pattern.........

Oh, I didn't mean to say that the 7 speed was ancient, it came to me attached to an ancient NP 5 speed truck tranny. GBSISSON, I have always wondered why they didn't use more gears in towing rigs. I have run tractor-trailers my whole life and even back when i had a pair of sticks, a 5 and 4 I still wanted more gears. Now I've been running fuller 18 speeds and that's not enough either. Why can't i have a 9 speed in my powerstroke?

I wouldn't drive if I couldn't shift. I've never owned an automatic and never will. The couple of times I have had to drive an automatic it never felt or sounded right and usually chose to shift for myself anyways. It makes me sad to go on to the Ford website and not be able to choose a 6 speed manual for the pickups anymore... or any manual for that matter!

From the Classic Bronco's website...
I like these line drawings from this angle, just look under your truck. ;)

Here's my favorite picture of my E4od... ain't it pretty? ;)
^^^That big ol' second guessing piece of crap is outta there! LOL :)
But the weight is about the same as the ZF I replaced it with....
E4od = ~230# = ZF -with- its flywheel and pressure plate
ZF = ~145# = T18 but my T18 also has ~36# cast iron bell housing LOL :)
