Plug replacement question

I recently replaced my 05 EB expy with a 10 limited with 55k miles.
First question is I read a thread said there was a design change that the plugs come out easier than earlier model years is that so? Second, what is the recommended mileage to change the OEM plugs and with what type/ number plug etc..?

I used motorcraft plat. like what came out> I don't know the recommended mileage but my truck had 145k miles. The plugs were tight but a little constant pressure got them out. I also did this while the motor was still hot.
