RIP Lola
Good Dog. A very good dog. A Pit Bull as you can see. Not the smartest dog, but made up for it w/ great heart & dedication/ protectiveness of the family, including of her younger dog brother JAX (Also a rescue dog), which Lola helped raise w/ us from 5 months.
Lola never bit anyone. An occasional growl for effect, if needed.
4 years ago, My daughter became pregnant. Lola began following Denise everywhere she was allowed to, laying in front of her. Anywhere Denise sat down, Lola was there. That's when I realized this dog was special. How did Lola know?
When granddaughter was born, Lola slept in front of her crib. When the baby (Brooklyn) started walking, Lola shadowed her everywhere. Someone that wasn't family, she'd greet them first, only then let them closer, but still set herself between them as best she could.
Lola, at approximately 10 years old (Rescue dog/ Not sure) had to be put down, or better said, we had to do the right thing for her sake. Advanced Congestive Heart Failure, as well as severe Hip Dysplasia.
As much as we want them to stay w/ us forever, there comes a time when a painful decision for us, has to be made for their sake.
Brooklyn telling Lola Goodbye.
Now guess who shadows Brooklyn & greets anyone whose not family first, before allowed to come closer., still setting himself between? JAX (Also a rescue dog). Lola taught him well. Inseparable.
