bad piston

I have a 1988 ford f-150 302 that i just rebuilt. I had it put in and it started ticking after about 2 days. I tried to find out what it was and when I pulled the passenger side rear spark plug the noise stopped. I pulled the motor and the rear passenger side piston was very rough and burnt on the bottom side. I honed the cylinder and put a new piston in and bearings. The truck has run great until this evening it seems the noise has started again but very qiet. I have not yet pulled the plug wire but I just want to know if there is anything wrong with what I did by boring the 302 .030 over. Is there any known problems with this combination?

I hope there is help
