new tire fitment

I have a stock suspention 06 f250 6 liter with 33x12.50x18 tires on it currently. The next set I put on it are going to be 35x12.50x18. Stock 18 in wheels. will a 2 in level set be enough to clear the new size tires? Anyone have experience with this? Additionally, steering stabilizers worth it? The current tires are bfg ta/ko's. Going to mickys mud terrain

When you get the levelling kit, make sure you investigate the need to change the track bar to keep the front axle centered, and castor adjustment to put back the castor that you will lose with the lift. Both those adjustments are critical to good steering and not getting the wobble. I changed from a stock steering stabilizer to a Bilstein 5100, and while I'm very happy with my steering I frankly couldn't really notice a big difference between the two. The shocks, on the other hand, made a big difference.

Brain, I have the FX4 rancho shocks in my truck, I don't know what was in yours before, but I put Blisteins in my 71 vette and love the ride. What is the difference in your truck? Did take out the harsh choppyness of it ? If so I'm in for a set........Bill

That is it exactly, took out the harshness. I had the stock XLT shocks, not the FX4. The thing about shocks is they absorb the rapid movements that we feel as harshness and chop, and also dampen the big movements that you get from road undulation. Worn out shocks can still dampen the big movements but they let the high frequency chop through. I got the blue and yellow HD version, they were recommended for stock height trucks that are used for work and towing, as opposed to lifted trucks that are more for off-road playing. I think they are a little stiffer valved than the 5100 series, but otherwise identical internally.

I am curious on this as well. I want to re-use the stock 18's and go with a set of 35x12.5x18's. I think the stock 18" wheels that came on the Amarillo are a beautiful set of alloy wheels. I had looked into using 20" wheels, but I feel like losing 2" of tire is going to make it ride quite a bit harsher, not to mention 35" tires on a 20" wheel seem to look slightly out of place compared to an 18" wheel. Also, I'm thinking of using Nitto Terra Grapplers as I can get them for 264 a piece in 325/65/18 whereas the coveted BFG T/A KO's are 344 a piece.
