2008 350 In-dash 6 disc changer stuck

Last week my Starter blew up on my 08 F350. We cleaned the battery terminals when first trying to determine why the truck wouldn't crank. After doing this, my CD player started acting really weird, like it was trying to play/eject/read the CDs that are in there but can't. It continues to do this even after we have replaced the starter, EVERYTIME you open any of the doors it starts trying to do something over and over. At first it would just display an INITIALIZING message when I pressed any of the CD buttons on the radio and does not register that the CDs are even in it. In the last couple of days, it HAS started displaying CD ERROR when it gets tired of trying to read the CDs. I read somewhere on here to try removing the fuses and tried doing this but no luck! Does anyone know any other tricks that might help with this problem? Thanks for any help or suggestions!!

Sounds to me like it is just a connection problem in the controls of the radio, I don't see any relation to frying the starter.. maybe someone else will chime in.

those wires probably run down the same harness as your ignition. It seems like a stretch, but if you fried your starter bad enough it could have caused problems in that harness shorting out the controls in your steering wheel. Seems like a long shot, but thats the only way I could think of a connection between the starter and the radio. Anybody else have thoughts on this that are more reasonable?

If your stock radio is anything like the Shaker 500/1000 6-disc units in a Mustang, it's simply a POS.

Agreed! I had mine go out for no reason about six months ago. I found a guy on another forum that was selling his stock radio and put it in. I think I paid about $50. Mine was doing the exact same thing.
