No fix for Front Disc brake conversion.

Hey guys I have a 1954 F100 with a 272 Y Block with a 3 speed tranny. As it seems none of the brake kits will work with my truck because of the clutch linkage will be in the way of the master Cylinder and booster. I have talked to multiple companies that make these kits and some other people and no one has an answer for me. I am very upset because I want to make this truck a bit safer with the disc brakes and it looks like it is not gonna happen. I did talk to MP Brakes and they sell a Brake and clutch assembly for a Master cylinder that bolts to the firewall but that assembly alone is $600. I just dont see why I cant find a work around for this. I want to keep the 3 speed on the floor.

Anything will help.

Gary

Try this one. Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Pwr Brake Booster Kit, Pre-valv, Disc-drum

Part #5955-cm for front disc rear drum.
Part #5955-cc for front and rear disc.

It mounts the booster and master farther to the back on the frame. So it should clear all the clutch linkage parts.

Wow if it really is that simple then I will owe you a steak dinner lol. I do have one other question. Do I need to match anything up to this master cylinder to the calipers or anything when I go to choose the front discs? Also where can I find something to cover up the battery compartment in the cab? Thanks

Or this: Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Clutch Bracket & Shaft Cnvrsn

Do you not have a Mid Fifty catalog???? If not download it immediately: Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Home Then call them and order a print copy (free!) to keep in your truck.
While you have them on the phone, explain to them exactly what you want to do and get their recommendations on the best parts to use. The gals at MF really know their trucks and will be glad to help you.
