Diesel swap

well.....since I decided to build up my 400" and now the cost of the gas increased about 125% :banghead: :banghead: ......Also wheeling places are at least 300 miles from where I live......so I found something interesting and allready made an offer on it.....

2004 Ford engine..... is a MWM International Sprint 6 cylinder 6.70 -4,2Liter - turbo intercooler 185hp , 18 valves and mechanic diesel injection......and this engine came with the ZF5 I have in my bronco so is almost a bolt in.....The fuel economy with this engine is about 18MPG in city/off road.....This engine runs with any kind of diesel without injectors or pump problems and has no ellectronic at all!!

This engines came into this trucks until 2004 then they changed to 4
cylinders cummins.

Working on the frame.....Erasing the trace left of 5 different engines swaps....

Working on the engine suppot.......I made them longer cos i think it would be good to put another engine mount in the front of the engine

"Electrolitic" paint hahahahaha

Positioning the engine and working on the new perches

Excelente trabajo... Ese diesel suena interesante. Por qué tantos cambios de motor?

Excellent job... That diesel sounds interesting. Why so many engine swaps?.

Thanks Hencho......I think is because I had the possibility to do it.....but since I build my 400" the fuell price went up more than 100% in my country.....i loved my 400" , but it was killing me!.....With this diesel engine I have 44% more fuel eficiency......
Also it was a great deal , cos 400" are very rare in my country and I could buy 3 diesel engines for the same price I sold my 400"

That sounds like an awesome swap... I'm gunna see what kind of cash I have at the end of the year and HOPEFULLY... do a 7.3 swap into my 96' (because I can!) or just rebuild the 351w if I don't have the money. But 18mpgs for a lightweight diesel city/off road is incredible. Can't wait to see it in action!

Thanks man....I would love to have a 7,3 into my Bronco.....but thoes engines are very difficult to find in my country and expensive to rebuild....
A friend of mine has a 1981 Bronco with a 7,3 amd ZF 5 and he is doing 20 or 21 MPG......is amazing...

When he bought it was 2.5 Turbodiesel cherokee engine......and the rear tailgate was modified to lift like a 1981 Dodge Ram....he restored it completelly
