93 F150 Flareside

Hey guys, I have a 93 F150 Flareside. Traded for the truck in November and shes been good to me since. Ive had a lot of standard repairs that just come with a 20+ year old vehicle, but now im getting into thicker matters. The truck has 230,000+ and there is now oil getting into my air intake, the left side of my engine is leaking oil as well, I believe the bearing in the truck are bad because there's a ticking noise. So, my question for yall is what do you think is going wrong? Do I need to rebuild the whole engine or do you think I could get by with replacing the seals and bearings? I need help because Im new to all this. What do yall recommend?

The ticking can be many different things. You need to narrow it down to where it is coming from. The leaks should be addressed. FIRST though, change your PVC valve and clean its tube that feeds to the valve cover, then clean the inside of the airbox. Once that is done drive it for a week or so and check the inside of airbox again. If its covered in oil again, you have internal engine problems, most likely worn piston rings. That means engine rebuild or replacement. It has happened to several members here, and with your mileage, I wouldn't put it past your truck...

The ticking is coming from the bottom. I wouldn't be surprised either. Well there won't be oil in the airbox again because I bought a new breather that goes outside. That way oil wont get all over my air filter and I'm replacing it every two weeks. And I can wash this new breather off and its reusable.

Sounds like your engine is on its way out. I would start looking for a rebuilt one or start finding prices for a rebuild. Low end ticking and excessive oil through the breather sounds like you engine it just worn completely out.

I've found a 302 interceptor motor. Would that fit in my truck? the bolting and everything fit? I don't want a lot of work putting a new motor in.
