Yes... another project. 56 Bigjob Rollback

So i started this project a few years back. I started gathering parts, like a 56 cab and a bunch of other stuff. Got an early 80's F700 chassis , sold off all the stuff i didn't need and gained a nice platform with air ride and a built 429 . That'll be going in my 55 pickup that I'm starting on soon. So the original cab i got had a bunch of rot in it, was really bad in the roof. So i started looking for another one and found a truck behind a buddy's body shop. So i sold the cab i had and bought the one my buddy had. Now I'm searching for a 19' aluminum rollback body and i just found an 8.3 cummins with a 6 sped allison trans. Ill be ditching the power stroke for a smaller truck I'm building.

Heres what i started with.

Heres the new cab that i have now.

I was just on hotrodders .com and seen your post there. Welcome over here. I can't remember who it was at the moment but there is another project just like yours on here. You'll like it here.

Have always wanted to have a old Ford roll back. But then the wife asked the question, Why? My only answer, Because it would look great! She thought that was lame??? Also love the COE roll backs too. Glad your letting us follow your build. Looking forward to it!

So, next time she wants a new dress, ask her "Why?". She'll respond "Because it looks great.". Now, my friend, you must seize the opportunity and parlay her answer into justification for that fine-looking old Ford rollback! Or maybe not.

As for the thread at hand: this, too, is a long-term dream of mine. Thank you for sharing and please keep us posted!
