Places to order military tires?

I've been looking for a set of cheap tires to replace my dry rotted super swampers (on 16.5" rims) for a while, and started looking into military tires. I've read a lot of stuff about the 36" bias Goodyear Wrangler RT-II tires being a lot better offroad than the 37" Goodyear Wrangler MT radials.

Anyway, I was wondering if there was any truth to whether one is better than the other, and where you guys have gotten military tires from in the past.

I have ran both the 36s and the 37s. and yes, the 37s SUCK off road. I got a brand new set, still had stickers and little nubs on the tread, and they were absolutely horrible off road. They ran great on pavement, very smooth, pretty quiet, good road manners for such a large tire. But off road, It wasnt even worth my time.

The 36s on the other hand are the exact opposite. They were amazing off road, I would put them on about the same level as ground hawgs, just below TSLs and Boggers. BUT they were bias ply, and on road they flat spotted, were impossible to balance, and were pretty squirrelly on slick roads.

I got the 36s from a buddy, and the 37s at the jefferson swap meet, but that was years ago, cant really help ya there

On 37s:

On 36s:

No, I don't plan on airing them down. I'm well aware of what happens if you do.

Yeah, I had them on my truck for a while and switched to shorties. I'm going to clean em up again and put em on my brother's truck once the weather warms up though. So they are still in use.
Thanks again for that.

Wrong kind of military tires. Those are restoration repops. He's looking for the newer 36's and 37'' goodyear tires. Not the old non directionals like old Jeeps and Kaisers had.
