Angry F350 Rear Seat Belts

The rear seat belts in my 2005 F350 King Ranch Quad Cab seem to point the wrong way, pointing to the rear. As a result, the plastic cover at the bottom of the belt is getting cut along the side. I thought to remove them and switch sides, but that doesn't seem to be the answer. Not only do the retractors correctly identify the LH and RH sides, but the bottom bracket won't fit properly on to the floor. Definitely a safety issue.

So, I'm putting the belts back the way they were, but I was wondering if anyone here has addressed this issue before. I did a search, but didn't find anything.

It just doesn't look good.

Help!

Maybe you can remove the top mounting bolt and
Twist it or flip it and bolt it back on?
Not sure what your problem is?
Does the male end point fwd vs rearward
when you try to buckle it?
Compare to fronts they should look the same.

My 2006 F-150 FX4, 2006 F-250 Lariat, and the 2002 Ex XLT all have the same seatbelt setup that Mike posted above. Its wierd that Ford put them in backwards.

On the F-250 the pass rear plastic casing started to split because I had carseats installed that maintained constant pressure on the reversed sheath.

Stupid design, but what can you do?

YES!!!!. You can see that the belt has "sawed" its way down the plastic cover at the foot of the belt.

I can tell that not everyone has had a similar situation. Is it possible to replace just the plastic cover, or will I need to replace the entire belt?

Many thanks for the help and patience!!!!!
