Hah blue book? Tell that to AllState and the DMV. They don't care. Craigslist, E-Bay, local classifies around here all match the book values anyways.

lmao! yeah or your insurance agency when they total your truck and give you 1/4 the price you thought it was worth.
i wouldn't think much of it.agree or disagree about a 9th gen truck being worth 20 grand,it's not going to change the fact of what we all see them actually selling for and can go pick one up for tomorrow if we want.there's no shortage of these old trucks.

still,i think the original thread starter should post up a pic of this $20,000 9th gen truck listing just for fun.im sure we
would all like to see it.

I read the thread opening question and ignored the rest of the thread. I have a '96 F350 crew cab that I bought a little over a year ago. I was looking for a diesel and found everything I wanted in this truck, but not the diesel engine. It has a 460. After having it for a while, I would not trade it for a diesel. It has lots of power, it doesn't need to warm up like a diesel before being driven, it is cheaper to maintain, and it is quieter than a diesel.

Exactly my point. Some people want CLEAN trucks and they are willing to pay for them

thats insane.they don't even have built trannies,4wd dually options, dump beds, sanders, tool boxes, lift gates, winches, hydroboost brake upgrades,or plows.just a bare bones basic outdated pickup! the least they could do is give ya a set of locking hubs to get you started.
(note to self; reject even all 30k offers lmao.)

serious note; thanks for sharing! those are like time capsules right there.it just goes to show you (if those are "really" being sold for type of $,not just listed as sold to make them appear worth it which id believe first) that there are many who dislike what happened in the year of 1998 with the drastic body change.

You mean this one? 2008 Peterbilt Model 325 from Handpicked Western Trucks LLC

That is not really a big rig and does not require a CDL. He has had that one for sale for awhile.

she's clean, but my lord it's just a reg cab stock pickup setup with 150k miles.someone might pay 16k for it,they really might.i think whoever it is would be overpaying.
you know what happens with these old trucks? the brakes lines, fuel lines.....they all go.the brake calipers....they lock up.same with shoes.the brake wheel cylinders..the master cylinders...they're seals fail when you start using the truck again.
they don't just start off like it's been freshly built in 2013 just cus she looks that way.make no mistake she was build in 1995 (if not in '94) be careful.you'll be in thousands in repairs before you know it with small junk like all u-joints going.those tie rod ends and ball joints....probably pressed in there since 1995.start working them and you know what happens?
i know.iv been down this road.i bought mine with 49k.sitting does them no good.electrical connections dirty everywhere.your pulling stuff to clean and grease for months.
don't let appearance trick you.i can assure you those clean lookers will be in need of repairs inside a month or two of putting them back in to use.if you can't do them yourself, there's thousands adding up quickly in brake,u-joints,ball joints, fuel system repairs,etc.etc.etc.
everything's got to be flushed.all that juice sitting up in the front diff and the rear.drain it and it smells like turd oil.the steering box and or pump's seals.,can't trust those either.run the truck for a couple months, and you see the coolant is dirt brown already due to sitting.
shop carefully and don't go just on appearance.appearances can be deceiving and always, always, always compare your money to other trucks in the same price range even if it's not what your after, compare what the dollar amount gets you anyway.it helps force you into making a much more educated decision and never rush.
remember, with these insane fuel prices and likely never going to return to what any of us would ever consider half fair again, makes it a buyers not a sellers market.you as the buyer have the upper hand.

While I agree that 15-20k is a lot of money for an older truck. What something is worth is subjective. If a 2013 crew cab is "worth" 60k. I can see how someone might be willing to pay a premium for a low mile super clean 350 crew cab with a 7.3. They would probably spend less in maintenance and repairs over the next 200k miles anyhow. That Being said, if you pay a premium you better be prepared to drive for a long time to make it worth it

Exactly. The new trucks are 40-60k that is INSANE to me, but obviously not to a lot of other people because they keep selling more every day

20k for an 95 or older in my opinion is way to much unless its a show truck. Down here in Miami,fl for 10-12k you can find a badass 250/350 loaded anywhere between 1999 to 2004. I paid $3800 for my 1988 f350 XLT lariat 4x4 crewcab with the 460ci with no rust. Thou it is a gas pig but it runs great. Ill sell you mine for half of what your paying for yours. Oops did I say I paid $3800. I decided to buy mine just to not have a car payment. Might be worth taking a road trip here down south and drive your new ride home.

Thanks for the info, Im glad I posted that on here, I already have and 2003 f250 with a 5.4 in it with only 82,000 miles on it, and I have always wanted an 7.3 but they dont come in the newer trucks, most of them got the 6.0, and I like the older body style
