engine/trans separator plate question.

engine/trans separator plate question.
My '90 F250 has a 5.8 and a ZF 5 speed. The engine in it has been making death rattles for a while, so I'm in the middle of rebuilding a replacement 5.8 long block. When I installed the current engine 1.5 years ago ( it was used, high mileage) the metal separator plate was in bad shape but I used it because I had no time to find a replacement. This time around, I want to use a plate that is in good condition, the local ferd dealer tells me the original plate is NLA and I can't find any in the aftermarket.
What I did find was a nice plate from Ford racing (P/N M-7007-B) for a mustang w/ a manual trans. Does anyone have an idea if this could work as a substitute? The 5.0 mustang engine is a small block like the 5.8 so the bolt pattern has to be the same, I'm just not sure if the ZF 5 speed has the same bell housing shape that the Mustang Tremec 5 speed uses.

The 4.9/5.0/5.8L engine share the same bellhousing pattern. That separator plate should work for your 5.8L application. The link to Summit leads me to believe my statement is true: Ford Racing Bellhousing Separator Plates M-7007-B - SummitRacing.com
