what rims will work on 99 f250 4x4

I would like to pick up an extra set of rims for my 99 7.3 f250 4x4 so that I can put some mud tires on them to run during hunting season. Would like to find a cheap set on craigslist. What years/make/model vehicles rims will fit my vehicle.

I want the mud tires to be at least 33' or bigger. I am running 265/75/16 bfg AT right now and they gum up bad in the mud (got stuck the other day in a spot I should be able to get through) so want some bigger mudders. From the research i've done on this site, looks like 285/75/16 are about the biggest that will fit my stock rims.

Thanks for the help!

stock 99-02 F250, F350 or Excursion wheels?
You can usually find a set for $100 or less on CL.

If I could find some that cheap, that would be awesome. Everything i've seen so far on craigslist are $250+. I will wait to find some cheaper as I am in no big hurry.

Yeah, wait it out. When I was looking, I found a few sets at that price. Wound up buying a set with some usable tires. Then again, that was 2 years ago where people were hurting a bit more than they are now.

I picked up two sets of 16.5" wheels on craigslist for 100/set. Keep your eyes open for Dodge/Chevy owners who mistakenly buy 8x170mm wheels instead of the 8x6.5" bolt pattern they need.

I'm thinking he means, or rather it could be translated to, hub centric verus lug centric.

In a hub centric wheel, the inside diameter of the portion that slides over your hub is as close as possible to the outside diameter of your hub. This reduces the load on the lug nuts, as they are simply holding the wheel on to the mating surface.

In lug centric wheels, the inside diameter of the portion that slides over your hub could be larger than the outside diameter of your hub. Therefore, increased load or force being exerted on your lug nuts.

Lug centric wheels are not so much a good thing for trucks that carry heavy loads as the potential exists to sheer off your lug nuts once loaded and rolling.

That is a good looking truck you have in your picture. What kind of lift do you have on it?

Nevermind, I see where the 6.5" lift is on your description.

Yup. 6.5" Pro Comp from what I've been able to determine. Installed by a previous owner. Threw new leaf spring bushings in it a few months ago and its still riding great.
