bosch platinum 2s.
so i changed my plugs in my 2000 excursion the other day and put bosch platinum 2s in,started up my truck only find it had the worst shake and was miss firing like no tomorrow.so i looked up a few things on the internet and found this forum.boy,i wish id have found it sooner!!!! but after reading a few posts on here i pulled out the bosch junk and installed autolite double platinums, and torqued them to 14 ft/lbs with anti-seize,and yes i changed the cop boots the first time with the bosch plugs as well.i fired up the beast and it pured like a large kitten. anyone else ever tried the bosch platinum 2s and this trouble??

Over and over again plugs are cited as one of the major improvements or problems with both the V10 and V8 modular motors. Through reading here and practical experience most of us have discovered nothing works as good as Motorcraft or Autolite for these engines.
Same goes with any sensor the ECM requires for proper engine management--oddly enough Bosch-brand seems to be most problematic as far as the O2 sensors go.
Since you've used anti-seize I'd re-torque the plugs to 21-23 ft/lbs---the heads will handle that torque just fine.
Bosch makes great stuff for a lot of applications, just not plugs for Ford motors!

Ditto on the OEM plugs - however, I did use the Bosch "OEM type" platinums but only because they gave them to me free to do a review.
They've been in for over a year now, no issues.
It seems the common thread on plug issues is how much platinum and how it's used. I think the OEM plugs are "single platinum" where there's only a small wire inside the main electrode - nothing on the ground electrode.
