OT - Trailer Backing G.O.A.L.

and i didnt get out and look.

i scraped the corner across the top rail of the chain link fence... and it opened up like a sardine can. if i had not made this miscalculation...
i would not have known about the horrific water damage hiding under the aluma panel siding stuff.

the corner piece of wood was completely rotted away. there was a 2"x2" void in there. 1 8ft stick of treated 2x2 and 2 slightly angled cuts fixed that problem... a tube of white silly cone took care of the cause.

it aint pretty... but it will work till i can get replacement panel parts... (or just renovate and rebuild the back end all together)

hell of it is...
it seemed like i was following the same path i always do when backing it in...

lesson learned...

goals arent just for soccer and hockey...

I remember reading an article on vehicle related accidents, article stating that most fender bender type wrecks happen within 3 miles of a person's residence as that's where they feel most comfortable and thus stop really paying attention. I guess this could add to that evidence?

Sucks that happened but apparently it happened for a reason.

I'd say that was a blessing in disguise. Time for some renovation work and some "Eterna bond tape & Eterna caulk"

Even fired up the hot water heater and the shower worked... kinda low pressure out of the nozzle but it gets the job done... i need to find a new nozzle for it...

Backup cam on the back of the boat trailer is on of my current projects. (Current... get it?)

Sorry about your grief Chris... I know how much it sucks to have recreation curtailed.

We are full timing so I back up the camper often. When I can see the back of the camper from the driver side window, no problem. But when I have to look out the passenger side mirrow I get my wife to spot me. I never understand her motins and gestures, so we have reduced them to: Scream if i'm about to hit something! Works so far.

Seriously, if you crack the code on female hand signals (one in particular I think I've got down) please enlighten us. Seems like I can't back that thing up ever without getting out at least once for a con-fab...

Glad I'm not the only one....One of these times it will end in divorce. It's got to the point where I send my 9 yo out. She does it way better than my wife, with hand signals I can understand.
