Need a little help or advise, i got a 1994 xlt 2wd 5.0 with 4r70w trans and i want to swap in a 5.8 iv heard its really easy my question is what do i need for the swap and can i still use the 5.0 wiring harness/ computer and will it bolt directly to the trans. any help or advise will help thank you

 

The transmission will bolt right up but you will need a different flexplate that goes with a 351, something about the balance. The motor mounts is a direct bolt in, will match right up. The heads are 2 inches farther apart on the 5.8 so this will cause some concerns if you have a single exhaust off the manifolds. The heads being 2 inches farther apart will also probably create some minor problems where the belt driven accessories bolt to the front of the engine.

Someone else will have to advise you on the computer and wiring harness.

Is your truck MAF? If so this is a real easy swap no computer changes necesary, but if not then you will have a problem because there are no 5.8/4R70w computers as that was never a factory combo.
