Leaky Rear Window 2004 Super Crew Lariat

The window is powered, the truck is new to me.

Last two car washes (different types entirely) I observed water entering the cab from the area of the rear window. I can tell exactly where its leaking in at as I was up front. But its definitely the window or the area above it.

Has anyone faced this issue? Have you found a fix or paid for one? What sort of cost am I looking at?

Advice welcome.

Thanks!

It's most likely the third brake light. The seal on them just tends to fail eventually. Unfortunately you can't just buy the gasket for it, they want you to buy the whole light housing. But there are a few posts on the interweb that suggest using caulk, house door weather stripping ( which is what I used when my light leaked ) and probably others. But I think that's your culprit. Hope that helped, good luck.

Oh and the cost of the weather stripping I got at Home Depot was like $3 for 3/4" wide and 10ft long. So it's real cheap.

All my research agrees with you, and some folks have gone as far as also using RTV to mount the gasket. Has anyone else used the RTV in conjunction with the gasket?
