'63 F250 4WD Horn button & Column removal

Does anyone know how to remove the horn button on a '63 F250? I have have the steering gear ready to come out, the access plate on the kick panel is out, everything on the column is ready. I can't figure out how to get the horn button off so I can properly remove the turn signal wiring and pull the steering wheel. Any help would be much appreciated. I don't want to cut the wires that run down the side of the column.

Thanks,

Kurt

You should be able to push your horn button down, like to blow the horn, then turn the button to the left to remove it. There will be three catches on the bottom of the button holding it to the steering wheel plus a spring. Hope this helps you out.

Unless the cap is like mine and the metal cover is busted away from the plastic. I have to use a pair of channel locks and rag to get mine off.

I tried turning it prior to posting. It will turn but that's it. I have a feeling it's going to be difficult.

I knew they were the exact same part. I was saying that Highboy4X4's method would work, unless the cap was broken like mine is. I need to learn to specify better, don't I?

You probably have the same problem that I do.
