is there some literature i could read up on to get a better understanding of ford efi?
I want to get a tuner but not sure how it achieves more hp.. just timing?
like i said, im very new to the game but eager to learn.
I have a 2004 f350 and was totally amazed at what my sct x3 tuner did
to my truck, but its got the turbo so makes sense..
what kind of power can i expect from a tuner on my 460??
More power comes from fuel and spark, where you can go with these I am still learning. Compression increase is a huge power adder on a 460, 9.2 - 9.5:1 and it can still use regular fuel.

I purchased a Mongoose pass through cable, BE2012 and the AGANN strategy form Core Tuning. I also had to buy an EEC-V box so I had one to use. Adam Marrer at POPS Racing is a good resource and I'm sure will be happy to set you up a good tune for a price (that's his business). I don't know what your emission laws are, but my truck is an 86 model and as such was built non-catalyst from the factory. I have a pretty free flowing exhaust on mine.

You do have the better EFI heads on yours, right now I have E7 heads, yours are the F3 heads. There are some RV cams available (RV because they are for heavy vehicles or towing), the MAF is more tolerant of a hotter cam than the SD systems. If you start a new thread, link it here so I can follow it.

I need some advice guys!!

I have a 2002 F250 Super Duty XLT Ext Cab, with the Gasoline 5.4L. I was wondering which programmer chip everyone thinks would be the best to purchase/install in my truck for better Fuel Economy? If anyone can give me some info/advice I would GREATLY Appreciate it. I was wondering if I should maybe install something like a Cold Air Intake on her too if it would help me out some as well. Right now my MPG's are 8/City and 12/Hwy. I'm hoping maybe I can get it to 10-12?City and 15-17/Hwy because my Father has a 2002 E250 4x4 Van that is getting about that MPG's. (Which if I might add, his Van is AWESOME). Below is all the info about my truck..

2002 F250 Ext Cab
XLT Super Duty 4x4
5.4L N/A
4:10 Gears
315/75/16 BF Goodrich A/T's
Flowmaster Dual Exhaust
Roll-n-Lock Bed cover
Auto Locking Hubs
102,768 miles

I'd appreciate it GREATLY though if anyone can help and give me some advice on which route I should go to see a little change in MPG's without messing with my Gear Ratios!! Thanks guys!!
