New to driving a Diesel (2001 Ford F-250 7.3)
Hey guys. I have been trying to do research on the 2001 Ford F-250 7.3 recently due to the fact that my parents surprised me by buying me one. Every time I have began to look into it, I have gotten redirected to this website through google, so I figured I would just join and learn from y'all. Basically, I want to put a lot of time and money into this truck over the next several years, I look forward to having this truck for a long time. Due to the fact that I am currently in school I have not even gotten to drive it yet. From what I hear the truck is in great condition, 112,000 miles on it, with no body damage or interior damage. At this time I don't know what has been done to the truck performance wise, from what I have been told it looks as though it has gauges in it, i don't know what type, and a custom exhaust. I am going to post a picture as well. What i am looking for from you guys is what do i have to look forward to in owning this truck, performance issues? Also if you would tell me what you think of it from the picture, I would really appreciate it. Anything else that you feel like telling me would be greatly appreciated.

Transmission. read about it in these forums. 2001 had a change that made them less reliable. It may never bite you, but at a great cost to fix, it's good to be aware of it.
Nice Truck! Have fun with it. Take care of the engine and it will go 400k or further. The body, eh, that will have it's own challenges.
