Mugly gets a little love.
Finally having something worthy of a post albeit not too much.
During my last drive to the lower 48, I met up with Clay and picked up a Diamond Eye 5 inch exhaust from him. Not a bad system for the money but my main gripe with it was the lack of being able to fit my spare tire. I had previously owned a MBRP 5 inch kit and loved it, but alas it only survived 1 year under my truck before it was crushed in a wild ride. I had been driving with just an open downpipe, so any system was going to provide a nice quiet ride back to Alaska for myself and the GF.
So about two years have passed and with my various jobs, I haven't been driving the truck often nor far, often leaving the spare in the bed of the truck or at home. However, with graduation about 2 weeks away and several long drives under my belt for interviews, I figured it was time to fix the exhaust and get my spare tire under the truck before I get caught without a spare.
Moving the exhaust exit in front of the right rear wheel wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and I was able to get all of it done with a sawzall, creative use of exhaust hangers, one ratchet strap, and a little bit of wire feed.
Really wish I had done this sooner! Nice and quiet in the cab and just punishing everything to the right of me while rolling down the street.
The leftovers:
The New Look:
And a video of the GF reving it up.
Opted to donate my muffler to the school in which is promptly found a home to the only gasoline engine at our school.
Beyond this little adventure I am about 1.5 weeks from graduation and hoping to find work soon. I have been in talks with the local CAT dealership up here about work and also in talks with Ted Stevens International Airport about a apprenticeship working on their snow removal equipment AKA: easy summers and hellish winters.
And don't worry I already treated myself for graduation. Added an AR 15 to my slowly growing collection of guns. ( I only became a gun owner in May of last year. Alaska is slowly bringing out the country boy I never knew I had in me.)
Life is great and I can't wait to tackle the next chapter!
