Moog Hubs

Has anyone installed the Moog replacement hubs? I installed a pair last weekend and they seem to be tight. Eunice used to jump off the line when putting her in gear and now she just kinda rolls. Also, the gas mileage is a lot lower than before with absolutely SHOT hubs. Is there a break in period or something?

I also installed Moog upper and lower ball joints, but I can't see those making a difference to rolling resistance.

My Timkins were pretty tight on install as well. There is not really a break in period...they should be tight. Really loose or free spinning=bad news.

Replaced my hubs last week with moog. Yes, they felt tight which I think they were supposed to. I also have the moog ball joints. I haven't seen a differince in gas milage.

Perception is created and twisted so quickly.

Looks like I'm actually getting better gas mileage with the Moog front hubs. It just feels like everything's tighter and therefor worse gas mileage. First full tank of gas in the same driving conditions shows an increase from 9.4 MPG to 10.95 MPG.

With the lack of hub smoke and MPG add this switch makes me really happy.

When you think about it, if the bearing was too "tight" it would be because of excessive friction. When you resist motion like this the energy has to go somewhere, and friction would convert it to heat.

So if you really did have a bearing problem that was causing you to be less efficient your hubs would get HOT!
