New to me '69 F-250
Hey All,
Names Jesse, I've been lurking for awhile, but finally got a truck. 1969 F-250, 4x4, 4 spd, 429 motor. The entire driveline, motor, tranny, t-case, diffs, etc, was rebuilt by PO roughly 7k-10k miles ago. Love this truck, runs awesome, does just what I wanted. Just drove 150 miles round trip, with 5,000 feet of elevation gain one way, no problems at all, except the speedo.
The speedo has me a little stumped. I thought the speedo and odometer were driven by the same cable, but the speedo is stuck at 45, while the odometer keeps spinning as normal. I'm going to try and figure out how the gauge cluster comes out and see if it's still connected today, I assumed it was broken, but the odometer is confusing the situation.
Anyways, this is my introduction, if y'all have any tips on the speedo I appreciate it, but it should be pretty straight forward.

The two are run by the same cable. The speedo is moved by centrifical force. Sounds like it is stuck. If the odometer still reads, then the cable is okay.
Remove the screws around the dash cluster, pull it out slightly and reach in and unscrew the speedometer cable and unplug the large plug on the side of the cluster. It should then slide out. You can then remove the speedometer from the cluster housing and find out why the needle is stuck.
