Scott - I again offer my '59 axle, drum to drum without springs. My '57 copy of the Ford Body Builders Layout Book shows it is 32.36" C/L-C/L of the spring perches and 60.81" at the C/L of track width. I now also have a '53 copy of the Body Builders book that shows the same 32.36" spring perch figure and 60.57" track width figure. The slight difference in the two track width dimensions is no doubt due to a 5" wheel on the '57 vs 4.5" on the '53.

You're welcome to have it. If you are going to Bob's this weekend I'll load it in the van. Stu

Also, the 57-60 axle when used in a 53-56 lowers the front 1" Old time hotrod trick.

I emailed Bob and he says to his understanding you won't be able to make it to his place this weekend. If the '59 axle is a solution for you I can still take it to Bob's and we can see if anybody from up north is coming and would be able to do a relay to get it to you. Stu

Scott - if you want me to take this along Friday morning when I set out for Bob's please give me the word as soon as you can because I'll have to unbury it and maneuver it around other stuff out in the barn. Thx. Stu

If anyone is going to Bob's from Western WI, or MN, I'd be grateful to pay for a relay. I would say at this point there's a 20% chance I can make it down Saturday.

I got it separated from the collection of other axles it's been living with so will get it loaded and if nothing else will get it to Bob's place. Hope to see you there. Stu

Scott, Stu, if you work something out I'd more than happy to store here. One more old truck part isn't going to be problem.

Scott I really hope you can make it Saturday.

Found out today, that there's a zero chance of attending. Between my friend's wedding (wish they picked another weekend, as I don't pay attention to these things like my wife does) and working Saturday, I won't make it. Stu, if there's a chance you can bring the axle, I'll make a special trip to Bob's in the near future to get it, and at the same time, drop off those factory overload springs and brackets, if Bob, you're still interested? Wish I could make it, but this coming weekend ended up a bad one for me. I'd like to extend an invitation to those attending this year to possibly make it to my place in the next year or two, for a possible FTE get-together. Anyone along the Hwy 61 corridor will be right in the ballpark.

Dang it, the cards just didn't fall right for me this year.

Scott I'll put the axle on side and wait for your visit.

What springs are you referring to? My son is looking for rear set for his F-1.
