ignition miss v10 triton
My 1999 f350 v10 triton motor has what feels like a intermittent ignition miss. I am hearing that the ignition coils have a history of going bad and causing this type of problem. Is there any easy way to determine which coil is bad (assuming that is the problem)? Truck has 145k, engine was professionally overhauled 25k miles ago. 5 ignition coils have already been replaced in the past by previous owner. Thank you for any input.

Sometimes a code will be stored to tell you which cylinder. When I had a V10 it stored a code the first time, but not the second or third time it happened.
Another way to find out is to get one new coil. Install it in #1. If that doesn't fix it, move it to #2, and so on.
The best way to find out is to take it to a shop that has an ignition analyzer. They can connect it and it will show which cylinder isn't firing correctly.
