ever read the badge on the side of the truck? It says "POWERSTROKE"... The 7.3, 6.0, and 6.4 weren't Powerstrokes either, as you know they were International built, but Ford used them under the Powerstroke name. What source tells you that the 6.7 is an Isuzu build motor? I was of the understanding that it was build "in house" by Ford...??? Not so???

Powerstroke is a Ford term, like fx4.

Since 1993 ford has had powerstroke diesels. Started with 7.3, then a refined 7.3, then the 6.(uh)0, then the 6.4, now the 6.7, all powerstroke diesels.

I'm curious as to where the Isuzu statement came from... I did some research and can't find any connection...

Maybe he was thinking Duramax. The Durmax was from DMAX when it was GM/Izuzu. GM owns it all now. But it WAS an Izuzu.

Ford "kind of" did the 6.7 in house. It's their motor but an austrian company, AVL, was a MAJOR design consultant.

All 6.7s are built in mexico.

That was my thoughts (duramax/Isuzu). I also did a little research and found that the company AVL was a contributor...

I thought all the International engines that Ford used were Navistar.

Interesting. I think aluminum blocks have their place, but not so sure on diesel pickups, where guys expect them to last a long time.

Guess we will know in a few years how they end up being once there gets to be some high milers.

The 6.7 is a compacted graphite block with aluminum heads
The technology comes from ford of Europe and ford of amercia
