Loaded up the 2000 F150 with 20 gallons of fuel for a weekend trip and engine would
not start, have determined for sure it is the fuel pump. Is there any
way to remove the fuel from the tank before tackling the fuel pump?

 

theres not a drain plug best bet is get two motorcycle straps and a jack and slowly lower your gas tank to the ground

Get a couple of friends and lift off the bed . I do that a lot at my shop . Some times it is easier to pull a bed than the tank .A lift or overhead beam makes it easier though .

 

Gas is about 6.1 lbs per gal so about 135 lbs plus the weight of the tank and fuel pump.

 

Take the bed off it's a lot easier.

 

I would take off the bed if the bolts are not rusted
