Update on progress

Hi all

It’s been a while sence I was last on and a lot has happened in my personal life. We had to move and then my wife and daughter were in a car accident. An F550 hit them going 40 Plus while they were at a stop. They are not hospitalized for major injuries, however it a struggle day to day dealing with the headaches and back, neck and leg pain. It’s been about month now and I am finally getting back to the project. The machine shop has modified the Harland Sharp rockers to fit under the valve covers and have clearance. They are sending them back this week and I am paying for my set. I finally found a harmonic balance to replace mine and ordered it today. I should see it on Tuesday next week and I will be heading to the shop to hand it over and they can balance the assembly and build the lower end. I will get pictures next week. I am starting to pull the bronco apart. More to come

That about it for now.

You have any pics of the engine lately? Also definitely need some pics of those rockers when they are bolted on...

Just an update. The motor is coming along. rotating assembly is now balanced. Harland Sharp sent out my rockers. The machine shop will call me when they are in. block prep is complete head work is done. I will have picture of build coming. It will be a few months before I can test this engine. I am starting the frame off restoration and working on the drivetrain now.

Robert do you have a link to the digital gauge cluster that you are thinking about doing? I just thought about it and would be curious to see what it looks like.

Hi all. It’s been a while I have been busy working. Here is an update to my build. My Harland Sharp rockers came in last week. The Balancing is complete. I am waiting for my bearing to come back from being coated. When I moved I lost my piston oilers, man did that suck. I learned a lot first there are two types Press in and bolt in. I have the Bolt-in type that are hard to find, well so are the press-in. I started calling around and no one had them. I went to IH and they said sure we have only 100 left. So I ordered 8 for 58.00 dollars and 30.00 for 2nd day air. Went down to pick them up and the guy handed me one, I said great where are the other 7, he say, oh I only charged you for one. Well I was pissed to say the least. I called ford and started calling every dealership in the US and Canada. I asked the price 9.60. I was able to track down the last 8 ford has. The Press-in require a special tool that no one has and IH only has 70 tubes, but no tools to put them in. I am now looking for an extra set just to have. Oh, the fords are different them the IH. They are tapered at the end and the IR are not.

Ford Part # E5TZ-6C327-C
IH Part # 18Z993C1
