I forgot to ask. Did you end up getting new push rods from them as well?

Also Racin what do you think the clearance will be with your cam? Do you think there will be any issues? I know you said they would clear with the stock cam and possibly the torque cam. It will definitely be interesting to see how they perform...

go bigger pushrods, and flycut the pistons to clear. lower compression more for more boost. and lighten the pistons

My cam would have a lift of .467" with 1.7's... that is about .008" more than the J2 with stock ratio.... J2 clears with stock geometry, I don't know how much that extra .008" would make a difference... I would definately check clearance with a set of solid lifters before I ran it. I have a feeling it would be just fine though, my duration specs aren't anywhere near the J2, and that is what would cause a conflict. Ill check my cam specs when I get home though.

Is anyone running roller lifters? I see them advertised, could increase the ramp up angle on the lobes a bit with those.

Thanks for the info Justin. I look forward to more of your thoughts on the rockers and your cam specs.

Remember this is a prototype and changes will be made to correct clearance problems. Mike at Harland sent Steve the info for the push rods. They will mock up the rockers and check it out. If it doesn't fit I will send it back and they will modify the rocker again and send it back to check again.

I understand about them correcting clearance but isn't there still a max lift that they can go with? Like wouldn't they just lower the ratio if they didn't clear?

Robert has my cam, so he will be the first to find out if it clears or not with these... if it does, everything should be just fine.

Robert, kick *** man!...

Yeah I can't wait to see how they do. It will be badass when they are on there and it is running!!! I bet it will even sound a lil different.

I was talking to a friend and they said people are having issue with Meth injection because of the water. He thinks Propane would be better, however I am not sure in it would drop my EGT as well as Meth injection

propane will not drop egt's at all. if you want to drop egt use pure distilled water.

Horsepower is hard to gauge even with the specs of the engine but I would guess that you are pushing slightly more than stock power levels.

As far as the propane and water/methanol debate goes, both have their pros and cons. There are some cases where propane does lower egts but w/m is usually better at that. You can usually get more power from propane though. I like the variable controlled propane kits. They add more propane as boost rises.
