my boss has had to take his 2012 back to the dealership 5 times for differant problems im wondering if the is a on going problem for all ecoboost engines
Very few have problems considering hundreds of thousands of EB's have been sold. The internet tends to repeat a lot of the same problems/rumors over and over and over and over again. I'm not trying to say that no one is having probems. I'm just saying the number of actual problems are probably way less than 1% of the total engines sold.
I have had mine for 1 1/2 years now with no issues(knock on wood). I have 18,000mi on her now and 4500mi were towing my 7500lb travel trailer last summer. I am hoping sometime in the near future Ford is going to come out with final fix for this damn condensation problem. Because besides a small % of owners having this issue these engines are absolutely AMAZING!!! I said it when i first bought the truck and i still say it now 1 1/2 years later, This is by far the best truck i have ever owned!!

What model Outback do you have?? I bought a 2012 292BH last march and couldn't be happier! The Ecoboost tows it like a champ!
300RB. I haven't towed it with the new truck yet, but will be the first weekend in April. I'm resisting the urge to try it out until I get some more miles on the truck.

How many of you EB guys have read the f-150 threads on the trans, driveshaft, rear end, shuddering with the 6.5 bed.........22 pages of good reading. I've already priced a raptor trans mount. This weekend I'm going to measure to see if I CAN do a single drive shaft. Even though mine is brand new I still like be ready to change what the engineers screw up.......

Just curious, is the shudder the same as the early super duty's had? There was a TSB which included a bracket/spacer that dropped the carrier/center support bearing, to alleviate driveline angles. Might be something to check into.
Other than that, I've been researching an EB 150 to replace my V10, have noticed very few issues. Early on there were wastegate actuator problems.
We have five EB F150s at work. 3 short beds and 2 long beds. All crew cabs 4x4's Lariats with 3.73s and to date no we have had no Ecoboost related repairs. Matter of fact I think other than mine going in for recent warranty work for a noisy Pinion Bearing, none of the other have seen the dealership since they left the lot. So far so good! We also have a one 5.0 that I've been impressed with thus far (has less than 5k miles on it). Decent power and the fuel economy is every bit as good as the EB's that we have. I think ford hit a grand slam with the current engine line up as all seem to be very good (3.5EB, 5.0, 6.2, and the 6.7).
