Here's hoping for a speedy mend!

I've been putting mine off for quite awhile now, but it'll have to get serviced eventually, I guess.

Hey Fixnair,
I was still thinking about your situation after reading your note.
What would I do if I was laid up for a couple of weeks & some doc
told me I couldn't lift 5 lbs or walk more than 20 feet, etc.

Ok so here's what I would recommend for you Steve. It's the absolute best documentary series I've ever seen & it's all about wrenching & travelling with your buddies. Ewan McGregor (star wars fame) & his buddy Boorman take a couple of motorcycles around the world - across Europe, Russia, etc. It's called the "Long Way Round" & they did it again across the length of Africa "Long Way Down".

It's not the soft way round - they take one camera guy & tents & wrench
& hack their way through - fantastic. That should keep you entertained & out of trouble during rehab. - 6 cd's.

Here's the movie Trailer

Website Long Way Round: Journeys - Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's epic motorcycle journey from London to New York

Best of luck on the recovery, you don't want to ignore that "check engine light" too long, besides it should give you time to fab up all kinds of ideas for the old Ford! As Ross says, you'll have better weather once your back up and running.

Good luck with your speedy recovery! I had a less-than-stellar year myself last year with the health issues...do what the Dr says and get back on your feet as time allows. I had an umbilical hernia repaired (got it lifting a 4R55N trans out of the back of my truck by myself) so I know what it is like to have to lay low for weeks while the repairs heal...but the results are worth the wait.

Yup, had one of those surgeries myself. Get Well !

I often say I've had major work done but I never whined like a little puppy more than that episode when you try to get out of a chair.......
