good to know you can get new 16's with the innie hub cap nubs I guess. wonder if they are made in the philippines where they are remaking the 16" jeep combat wheels? those suckers are around $400 each if I remember right???

guess i can scrap all my rusty original 16's now since they are available new, this should free up some storage space!

You are joking, right? Don't tell me that you've been sitting on a mountain of wheels all along.

Do the repop's have the Ford oval, and a K-H stamping? Sorta doubt it. I'll hang on to my originals, thank you very much. And Josh, if you really want to get rid of yours I'll make it a point to take I-80 though SLC on my run to the northwest this summer. I'll have the trailer with, so it really won't be a bother. Really. Stu

I'm all for original Ford equipment as much as the next guy, and I searched for a very long time for my fourth original rim. I remember asking if anybody had an extra 16x4.5 rim on this forum and never really got a response. I finally tracked one down on Craigslist in another state and had it shipped here. Then I got lucky and found a fifth one for a spare at the Supernationals. But when it comes to these wheels, I've always been leary of the fact that they don't have a built-in safety bead. The wheels being advertised by Mid-Fifty are made by Wheel Vintiques, which are American-Made. I actually just called Wheel Vintiques. They're on page 7 of their catalog, and they do indeed have the safety bead. The price is $120 each.

kidding about scrapping them of course, but i do have a few sets. I just need to dig them out of the storage and pick out two sets and sell the rest.

part of that picking out 2 sets will require spinning them for dents and bends etc. heavy rust scale inside, lip dents etc etc.

Sorry Doc, didnt know you needed one. my f1 came to me with 16's but two were not in good shape so I started collecting them. probably have 2 dozen give or take?

Well after further review, I think I'm gonna buy a new set of 15s that will accommodate original looking hub caps to avoid buying new whitewalls. My tires look very good, and at least it will still look somewhat original.

I have to agree. I spent this week dismounting my 15" and 16 " tires. and found I had way more than I thought! One on this truck and 2 on that thruck and some hidden in the corner I forgot about!

I ran them on the spin balancer and only one out of the bunch had any wobble to it and it was a 15"

I threw a set of 16s in the bead blast cabinet and they came out very nice. Now I dont know if I'm going to sell them or paint them for the "next" project

Did you go 15 or 16"? Seems like you really wanted 16's to be original.

I did, but that would require me to buy new tires, and I want whitewalls. They are not cheap. I went with 15s. I'd rather spend the money on my new wood bed right now.

Let me guess, after I make the deAl on 3 sets, youre going to only want one set at the reduced price?

Thats the oldest trick in the book, but there are guys who still try to use it!

For you Steve I'd GIVE you a set if you really needed them, isnt that what FRIENDS do?

When I clicked on Meadow Green, they showed some samples of trucks painted that color and mine showed up as the first example! Neat.
I have to wonder if it's Classic White. It was a Ford color in the 50s, and it was somewhat creamy.
