transfer case Question

I have a 1988 F-150 it had a Borg Warner e8-ta transfer case and I found a e9-ta to replace it just wondering if there is any difference in the two.

I don't have a cross reference chart for ford part numbers, but there is a tag on there showing model number.
Np208, bw1356.... If you're looking at them both then you'll visually see if they interchange.
