I am looking at two programmers on Craigslist. One a 1805 and the other 1855. The 1805 sells for $100 less than the 1855. I know the 1855 is the newest version of the two. Are there any main differences between the two? I have a e99 with 7.3 and auto trans...

How do you know if your buying a Vin locked unit or not?

 

I know this is an old post, but the tuner should tell you whether or not they are VIN locked when you plug them into you OBDII port. Before you purchase, plug it in and follow the onscreen instructions...

Although I'm guessing by the date of this post they aren't for sale anymore.
BTW it costs like 100 dollars to unlock one from SuperChips...

 

Thanks for that. I was going to have to have them shipped so trying it first would not have worked. I decided to go with a DP Tuner F5. Glad I did. The shift on the fly with the DP is really the way to go.

That is one option I wish I had as well, the ability to tune/shift on the fly.
