If you are talking about the bigger yellow wire then you might now have an open fuse link coming off the battery side of the starter solenoid.

yes thats the wire, i seem to be messing up more stuff as i go when originally all that was wrong was that i was recieving no voltage while the key was in the run position, so now how do i tell if the fuse link is bad?

Try to pull it apart, if it stretches it is bad.
