1952 hood safety latch

Are there any other hood safety latches that are interchangeable with the 51-52 safety latches? I need the spring but can't seem to locate either a latch or a spring.
Thanks,
John

The latch is on the panel between the fenders. The hood had a safety catch, the latch bolt and spring. I may have a spring. I also have the latch. However, I don't have a safety catch nor the latch bolt that the spring fits over.

Somewhere back many years, someone posted a picture of the safety latch spring (I'm thinking it was "Julies Cool F1"). If you do an advanced search you should be able to find it. There are many hardware store springs that can be made to work.

52 hood latches

All original hardware is still on the truck. The only thing missing is the safety latch spring. That spring must be interchangeable with another latch spring, I would imagine.

I need to check my parts book to see if the 48-50 spring is the same as 51-52. If it is, then I have a couple.

Checking the Nov. 1954 parts catalog, the spring is listed to be the same for 48-55 model years (possibly even a 56, but need to look at the 64 issue of the parts manual). With that said, I have a couple. PM or email me for details.
