I have an overhead console, which is nice, but I want to install a shelf-it overhead shelf. I already have the shelf.

The overhead console is in the way. I need the shelf to store my truck gun, unless someone has a better suggestion. The truck gun rotates between a Marlin Gun Guide, shotgun, M1 carbine, and an AR15 depending on what I'm doing.

If I pull out the overhead console how big of a hole in the headliner will there be?

 

Hole is about a half inch smaller than the console in all dimensions. Pretty darn big hole. Had mine off today to get the OTC out for R&R.

In a '75 I had seat covers on the front bench with a rifle sleeve just in front of the lower seat cushions, that was a great location.

 

Where are you located and what is your truck? I have a 2001 Crew cab withy grey interior and actually would like to have the lie-o-meter. Maybe we could swap head liners? I'm just south of Atlanta Ga.
