Installing Cruise control
Hi there truck wizzards,
I am installing an Audiovox Cruisecontrol on my 4.2L engine manual 2003 F-150 and need to locate the VCC and Tach wire. The manual tells me to look near the ignition coil, but that manual refers to a 92 truck. Since mine has electronic ignition, I don't even have a clue where to look. Same thing for the VCC wire. It tells me to check on the driverside side pannel near the on board computer, but all I can find is the under the hood fuse box with a bunch of wires.
Any advise, suggestions?
Thanks,
Dutchman

The SCS/Frigette Cruise is the one you want to install.
The VSS wire, 12v power, and the hot and cold brake wires and ground are all that is needed.
The handle or optional wheel mounted switches are better looking too.
SCS/Frigette builds Fords aftermarket Cruise. Which caosts more when it has the Ford logo. go figure.

Where is the best place to purchase the SCS/Frigette cruise control unit? I am interested in the steering wheel mounted type.
Thanks.

Best place to buy the SCS/Frigette cruise controls are at
WWW.BOUGHT4LESS.COM
To Find the VSS on F-150 97-03 is at the Air Filter is the Ford Cruise plug. 10 pin plug,, Pin #3 is a Gray/Black wire, that is the VSS,,
on the 96 and older the plug is at the hood hinge drivers side.
Also on the ford trucks clutch switch, use the 3rd wire on it,,, It is TAN/BLUE for the cold side of the brake. If it isnt there,(an empty cavity) add a wire to it.
It lights up with the brake pedal but also opens when the clutch is pushed.

The SCS/Frigette cruise controls are no longer available.
You now must go with the Rostra 250-1223 cruise control available at Bought4Less, Cruise Control, Auto AC Kits
Use the 3742 control arm.
It's better looking than the others offer like the one with the rubber boot, yuck!
This is for the 1992-2003 trucks
