03 SD trailer brake controller wiring

Ok so I finally got some time to install my Maxbrake controller. I looked at the video on etrailer.com and my harness was not to the right of the steering column where their video showed.

Here's what I did find, idk if these are factory installed pass throughs or someone blunt cut the plug.

Under the hood

Above the e brake release

Any insight?

I understand that they're factory, but are they brake control wires or just pass through wires

The brake control plug is there, it's just very hard to find. Look to the right of the open space under the steering wheel. You'll see a metal frame with a smallish triangle cut out of it. Stick your fingers through the cut out to the rear. You should feel the plug attached to the frame there.

The wires you are seeing are the pass through wires (4 wires under the hood match 4 wires by the parking brake), and the customer access wires (the other wires by the parking brake). None of them have anything to do with the brake controller connector.

I'll investigate more on lunch tomorrow, what gets me is the truck has 5th wheel rails in the bed, but I've found no evidence of it ever having a brake box

Found it today on lunch. It wasn't where anything I've read online said it would be lol. It was of the right side of the bracket that holds the throttle pedal. Just figured I'd put this here in case anyone else was looking for it.
