Ahh yes,back under the truck

As some of you know I havent been abel to work on my truck, because of health reasons. Nothing I can complaine about though, because there are so many folks worse off than myself. Well back to why im posting ,I just got in the house, Im layin on the bed, smelling like ATF, hands all banged up, wife sayin I stink. Boy what a good feeling, after I finish pullin out my old c4 Ill spend some time cleaning up some of the areas under the cab that I couldnt get to, b4 I finaly get around to installing, My rebuilt c4, 2000 "B&M holshot converter", and a fresh B&M flexplate. Ill have my fingers crossed when I test that C4, as it s my 1st attempt at an automatic, It was very straight forwad, but any body can forget a thrust wsher. I dont have any duplicat left overs, But Ill be a little nervouse untill it runs.Pluss I made a couple recomended ball changes in the controle body. What the heck, its all good expeierence, thats how I look at it. Well Ill bore you no more. Have a great day I did.

Underthebridgejim is fast becoming underthetruckjim.
Good luck on that first test drive!
I'm now in the middle of my first auto rebuild (4R70W). For the size of the transmission, the parts cover a lot of space.

I read this part and laughed. My wife was in the room so I read it to her and all she said was "Yep!"
Sounds like a great day.

Glad you are back at it. Did you rebuild the C4 yourself?

Yes I did, but not by choice. I bought it on ebay, it was supossidly already rebuilt, however when it was delivered, I quickly found that it had been blown up.LOL Now that ive done one, I would do it again. The c4 is not very complicated.

Jim, rebuilding an automatic is quite an accomplishment! I hope I never have to attempt it, I have enough trouble just doing the easy stuff. Now if it was made out of wood...

I did my C6 from my '86F350. I had never done one before but with help from a Haynes book It was a piece of cake. I'm sure you will do just fine. If I can do it anybody can.

Hey Jim,
I'm really glad you are feeling well enough to get back
at it. Still proud of you for tackling the automatic transmission -
that's a lot of parts! You also did your own exhaust! I am not worthy....

good on you Jim...feels good I know to be back at it... I'm itching to do something but got to get the arm healed a bit more... probably a few months yet before transmission work... right now it's tough getting a glass out the cabinet on the second shelf... working with arms over the head isn't gonna happen yet...

I need to see video of the tire burning in the first run !
later

Jim,
What a great post! Made me smile. Congrats on getting some work done.

I went through a C4 once, a bit scary but kind of fun. I'm sure it will all work just fine

Big thumbs up
Bobby
