'94 roller motor to '93 non HO F150

Well as the title says, I am going to be swapping in a 1994 F150 HO motor into my 1993 with batch injector firing. I have read that the ECU for batch firing will run a HO cam with no problems or modifying other than changing the plugs on the cap to match the firing order. Please has anyone done this kind of swap and made it work with Speed Density? I have read other forums and many of them say its very possible and with success.

Yes it'll work just as described, and while the cam in the '94+ truck motor has the 351/HO firing order it is not a HO cam per se.. just so you know.

Thank you conanski i was actually hoping you'd be the one to reply lol. And oh ohk this is awesome i had more questions actually... I am wanting to run the comp cams xe264 hr 14 which i hear will keep sd system happy. I am on budget so i was going to reuse stock heads possibly some mild porting but what do i have to change other than proper valve springs? Thanks!

I ran a 93 Mustang HO 302 in my 86 Bronco, it ran fine, and it got 17 mpg on a cross country tip - no joke. This is one of the reasons I stuck with the roller 302. Anyway, I just swapped the long block, I used the speed density intake, sensors, computer, everything. I did use the Mustang distributor, as it has a steel gear necessary to work with the hard roller cam. The truck distributor will wear out it's gear quickly when put against the roller cam. As you have figured out, just re-route the plug wires for the new firing order. If I remember, the Bronco's air charge temp sensor was in the air cleaner box, it was quite happy to be there. The good mileage was an indicator that this arrangement worked fine.

You're keeping the '93 wiring and computer right so ideally you want to keep the IAT sensor in the location that computer expects.. the intake sensor location will read higher average temps than the airbox sensor location, so just swap the '93 lower on the '94 motor.
Both engines should have roller cams too so it won't matter what distributor you use unless again there are wiring differences.

The XE264HR-14 will work but it will move the powerband up a bit, below 2000rpm the motor will be softer than stock but from 3500rpm on up it'll be much stronger.

Thank you both for your input!

And does that cam have a noticeable lope at idle? You didn't mention anything about reusing the stock heads. What in all do I have to replace to make that cam work? And I am swapping in the 94 and rebuilding the 93 so yea ill have both engines.
