New Fob and Key vs Fobheaded KEY

Hey all. I just purchased a 2010 Limited. It came with 2 fob-headed keys... More like bricks for my pocket..

I found these very cool flip-key fobs on ebay. ( like a vw key) I was a little leary but bought the right one ( lots of phonies out there BEWARE)

The one I picked was a complete fob and smart key replacement. Once I received I had to take the key off the fob( easy by punching a little pin) Don't be afraid of it.. took it to the dealer for cutting.. He charged me 5.00...
Of course he wanted to charge me 100.00 to program and I said NOPE THANKS..

I followed the directions to a T that came with the key.. John From Remotes was AWESOME and his customer support via email was OUTSTANDING..

If you want a cool keyfob and want to get rid of the big key Do it.. I bought the 4 button remote as I have a power hatch.. you can also get the 3 button remote if you don't.
I am putting the link minus the ebay on here not sure if it is allowed or not but here ya go: ( I am sorry moderator if I broke the rules I am not sure if this does) PM me if you want more details.

That is awesome!
I will need to replace mine soon as the case is cracked and Im afraid Im going to loose it.

I too have a power lift gate, so the 4 buttons are

lock
unlock
glass
hatch?

Or is there a panic?

My current remote has 5 buttons.

expoman55,
Did you buy your Expy used ? Sounds like you got the wrong remotes from seller/dealer
My factory remotes are the same as cstanley44's.
5 Buttons = Lock, Unlock, Panic, Liftgate, and Liftgate Glass.

If I could find the remotes like you purchased but had all 5 buttons I would definately consider it.

5 button key fob

RI-Matt
Can you post a pic of your 5 button remote. I have asked the guy I got my 4 button one from to find me a flip key reomote with the additional glass button if possible.

I would appreciate it?

Just did a little research and found they stop using seperate remote fobs in 2009 going instead to the key with the remote built in. Also there is no seperate buttons for glass and liftgate. If you have a power liftgate you dont have the option for glass and if you dont have the power liftgate then the remote only opens the glass, so it's one or the other NOT both like 07-08.

So dont sweat it expoman55, your remote is fine.

key fob

Hello Matt, Thanks for the checking. Yes the keys I received had the fob built on the head of the Key.. kinda clunky. Thus why I went with flipper key.. I have to verify tomorrow however I think( cannot recall how) somewhow I had opened the glass also with remote one day by accident . I know I can do the glass when I unlock with the keypad on door but I do think somehow I did the glass with the new remote.. I think I had to hit it 2x fast or something.. Let me check first.. Ill be back to ya.. now I am curious but it is cold and late ... Tomorrow comes soon enough..
